Episode 13

Tim Elmore wrote a great book called “The Eight Paradoxes of Great Leadership.” In it he looks at different qualities that could seem to be contradictory, but actually help balance each other. They are also qualities that every great leader needs in their life. I encourage you to pick up a copy to see how he describes them in detail, and the examples of leaders who illustrate these qualities well.

The eighth and final paradox he mentions is that uncommon leaders are both timely and timeless. Watch the video for a quick explanation and then consider these questions:

  • Are you more prone to hold onto things of the past or to grab onto things of the future, to what’s next?

  • How do you utilize things of the past to help you grow towards the future?

  • What are some timeless values that you hold onto as you move forward?

  • What do you do to keep yourself a forward thinker?

Comment and share your answers to the questions above. Let us know if you have any additional thoughts or questions.
