Signs of the Times - Week 2

Sharable notes for the January 28, 2024 message. You can post these notes on your social platform!

Scriptures used: Revelation 1:1-3, 9-18; Matthew 17:2, 5-7; Revelation 22:17, 20-21
Passages Referenced: Revelation 1; 5; 19 & 22

  • Before you see anything else in revelation you have to see Jesus, because it’s the image of the risen Christ that builds your faith and strengthens your hope.

  • Jesus has been present since the beginning and he’s already standing in the end, so we can rest assured that he has a plan in the present.

  • Jesus has revealed to us that as strong as evil’s power may appear around you, it’s just an illusion.

  • The point of Revelation is not to give you details for idle speculation about the second coming of Christ. It’s to motivate you to go and tell about his first.

  • Everything around you in the world may cause you to fear but heaven says to you - do not be afraid. Be filled with joy because the Son of God, the son of man, is returning to stand as the King of glory.

  • The unveiling of Christ in Revelation is that he is the Alpha and the Omega, the Lamb of God, the Righteous Judge, the King of Kings, the Lord of Lords, and the Bridegroom who will come to take His Church to be with Him forever.

Reflect or meet with someone to discuss:

  • When you read the book of Revelation, or hear it talked about, what thoughts go through your mind? Are you intrigued, excited, confused, frightened, something else?

  • Why do you think John wrote that God blesses all who read, listen and obey the words of this prophecy in Revelation? Do you feel blessed when you read it?

  • Have you ever taken the time to study the descriptions of Jesus in Revelation? If so, what have you discovered?

  • How does seeing Jesus in the book of Revelation encourage you to not fear the end? How can you remind yourself daily that the world's power is only an illusion?
