Comfort and Joy- Christmas Message

Sharable notes for the December 24, 2023 message. You can post these notes on your social platform!

Scriptures used: Matthew 1:18-23; Isaiah 7:14; Luke 2:29-32, 38; Mark 1:2-3; Galatians 4:4; Revelation 22:12-13

  • We get so caught up doing every day that we miss being in the day.

  • God took the form of the very man he created, to bring new life to all who would receive him, to all who would behold him as Lord, to all who would worship him with wonder.

  • Jesus wasn’t just another baby. He was God with us. God was showing the world - I am not far off. I am not uninvolved.

  • God’s answer may come differently than we expect it, but God’s answer will always be precious because his answer is found in his presence.

  • Our problems are real, but so is he. Our problems may be big, but God is bigger.

  • Jesus has been there from the beginning and he’s already standing at the end, and for that reason we can be sure he has a plan in the present.

  • God came to be with us. The question that needs to be answered is are you with God?

Reflect or meet with someone to discuss:

  • What kind of things do you marvel over?

  • How often do you sit in wonder, marveling over the fact that God came to this earth to be with us? What does that mean to you?

  • What are you waiting on right now where you need the peace of knowing that God is with you in the waiting?
