Scriptures used: Matthew 16:13-28; Luke 17:20-21; Acts 4:10-12
Passages Referenced: Matthew 14:1-12; Mark 6:14-29; Luke 9:7-9; 1 Peter 2:1-10; Ephesians 2:20-22; Matthew 21:42

  • When you have a revelation of who Jesus is, it transforms who you are.

  • When you come to the Father through Jesus Christ you are in the kingdom of God and walk in the authority of the kingdom of Heaven.

  • Jesus is the son of the Living God who came to bring salvation to the world that can only come through him, and when you live in him you live in the authority of the kingdom of Heaven.

  • Don’t doubt who Jesus is because you’re not getting what you thought you should get.

  • We want to customize Christ to our liking when he’s called us to crucify our desires and follow him.

  • We want to do what’s convenient and Christ has called us to carry a cross. Our obedience to the gospel of Christ should not have limits, it should not be customizable.

  • Salvation is a free gift of grace but following Christ will eventually cost you something.

  • When you customize your faith you compromise the power of God in your life. We don’t need a faith that reshapes itself to fit society, we need a faith that reflects the ethos of Christ.

Reflect or meet with someone to discuss:

  • What kind of things have you had customized before?

  • How do you think we try to customize our faith?

  • If someone asked you, how would you answer the question - Who do you say Jesus is?

  • What does it mean to walk in the authority of the Kingdom of Heaven?
