Scriptures used: Luke 2:8-20; 2 Corinthians 6:2; Hebrews 3:7; Mark 4:9; James 1:19; Psalm 121

  • We don’t want to be so distracted or self-focused that we miss the moments that are really important. More important is that we are not so spiritually distracted and self-focused that we miss the love of God revealed to us in Christ Jesus.

  • When Jesus was born there was no room available for Him. What room does Jesus have in our lives?

  • If we want to hear from God we have to put ourselves in a place to hear from Him.

  • Communication is listening to God. Comprehension is understanding what He is saying. Confidence is trusting in what He says. Change is when we are transformed by what He says.

  • The shepherds did not just hear the word and say that’s nice. They got an invitation to go see, and they acted on what the Lord had revealed to them. Do we have ears to hear and are we willing to step out in faith?

  • Busyness is a trap that is binding our lives, a trap that we unfortunately wear as a badge of honor. We need to challenge ourselves to look up and be aware.
