Scriptures used: 1 Thessalonians 5:1-11; 2 Thessalonians 2:1-12
Scriptures referenced: Genesis 6:11; Jeremiah 6:7; 51; Matthew 24:42-44; 2 Thessalonians 2:1; 2 Timothy 3:1-5; James 5:3; 2 Peter 3:3; Jude 1:18; Romans 1:18, 21-22, 32; 1 John 4:16; 2 Peter 3:9

  • Rather than deny God because we question God - and question God because we can’t understand God - we must surrender to God and trust God.

  • All through Scripture we see this spirit of lawlessness and violence and Paul shows us it’s rooted in a spirit of anti-christ.

  • Who or what we are looking forward to will radically impact who or what we are living for. That's why we do need to look forward to Christ's return.

  • We cannot bow to the culture and the spirit behind it, we must only bow to Christ.

  • Lawlessness is a rejection to God’s order for the world. It’s anyone that doesn’t want to believe that there is an eternal moral authority and instead wants to live by their own authority.

  • To know the truth of God and not follow it is to face the wrath of God.

  • We don’t have a “hope so” salvation we have the hope of salvation. That means because of our salvation we have hope.

  • The worst thing is not that we may die. The worst thing is that we would die without knowing Christ as our Savior and Lord.
