Scriptures referenced: 2 Thessalonians 2:2

  • We don’t want to see the word just for information. We want it to produce inspiration that leads to transformation which produces gospel driven Holy Spirit empowered action in us.

  • The Bible is evidence that God does perfect work through imperfect people, and that gives us constant hope.

  • The word of God is for you but not about you. As you read the word, read it to see who God is and then you’ll figure out who you are.

  • As the world gets darker, we have to go deeper into his word and into his presence.

  • The word of God is active and living, discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart. The more you read it and study it, the more it will reveal the sin in you, and through the Holy Spirit convict you and begin to transform you.

  • When we hold to the word in the power of the Spirit then we’re able to continually bow our heart in surrender to the Lord, and stand against anything that would cause us to compromise the truth in our life.

  • The Holy Spirit visited until Christ inhabited, and now the Spirt indwells within the believer.

  • The tree of morality alone will only lead to mortality, but the tree of life empowered by the spirit of God, leads not only to a life of righteousness, but also an abundant life now and in eternity.

  • When relying on the power of the Spirit is diminished in the believer and in the church, then the reach of the believer and the church to those around us will be diminished.

  • We are in a spiritual war and our greatest ally in that war is the Holy Spirit.

  • When you have the end in mind you tend to think differently about the present.

  • Jesus did not give us the promise of his return so that we would live only longing to escape. He gave us the promise of his return to give us hope, and he gave us the power of his Holy Spirit to live.
