Summer Reading 2025 Week 1

Sharable notes for the July 13, 2025 message. You can post these notes on your social platform!

Scriptures used: Luke 10:25-37; 1 Peter 2:2-12
Scriptures referenced: Proverbs 16:9

  • We all have an identity, a call and an assignment(s). Our identity in Christ is that we're a child of God. Our call is to be a part of God's will on earth as it is in heaven. We live these out through our assignment which is our job and whatever role we operate in.

  • Jesus didn't just have compassion, he was moved with compassion. The more you understand how beloved you are are to Christ, the more you can respond like him to others.

  • Salvation comes only through an amazing gift of grace and mercy that comes from Christ. When we embrace that gift, then we are to show that same grace and mercy to others.

  • What we do in this life towards others is evidence as to whether our hearts have been transformed by the grace and mercy of Christ or just informed by the message.

  • The love of God reorients not only the way we see the world but how we actually live and participate in it.

  • Everything we are a part of is an opportunity to be a neighbor that shows the love of God to the world around us, to be the salt of the earth and a city on a hill.

  • The more we rest in Christ, the more we’ll be aware of those around us who need a neighbor to show them the love of God, and the more we’ll be empowered to act with the compassion of Christ.
