Scriptures used: 2 Timothy 2:20-26; Daniel 5; Psalm 115:2-8; Romans 1:2-4, 18-23; Colossians 1:21-22
Passages referenced: Exodus 8:19; 31:18; Luke 11:17-20; Colossians 3:3

  • Don't take yourself more seriously than you take God.

  • Serve God faithfully at all times, and as you do, He’ll open the door for His power to work through you when the time is right.

  • We need to live our faith openly, publicly and unashamedly. Live in such a way that people know you are God’s spirit filled child.

  • Spiritual stubbornness is your strong will turned toward yourself instead of God.

  • "The enemy wants to use us to toast an unhealthy cause." Beth Moore

  • Sin consists of taking what God has set apart for his purposes and using it for our own.

  • When your faith is in God you are not consoling yourself with religion, you are concealing yourself in Christ.

  • Even if the vessel has been used for unholy purposes, God can still make it holy again.

  • Choose to trust the one who gave His all for you.

Reflect or meet with someone to discuss:

  • When have you been the most scared in your life? Would you say you have a healthy fear of God?

  • How stubborn would you say you are? How stubborn would others say you are? If those answers aren't the same, why not?

  • Have you ever allowed your stubbornness to cause you to miss a clear message or instruction? Do you remember what happened?

  • What message do you think God may be speaking into your life right now, but because of your stubbornness you've been missing it?

With so many voices present in our lives on a daily basis, it can become difficult to decipher whose voice we are actually hearing. We have to learn to silence any voice that speaks contrary to the voice of God. In this plan we will explore different voices that often arise in our lives and how to combat it with the words of God.
