Generosity Is Part of Following Christ

  • Generosity is a characteristic of a follower of Christ.

  • We are called to give regularly and through the local body.

  • Giving is ultimately about obedience and trust.

  • Our focus shouldn't simply be, “How will this affect my bottom line?” Our focus should be, “Christ is the center of my heart, so I will give Him my first and my best.”

  • Generosity shouldn't be treated as an optional part of our budget.

  • Generosity blesses our own, ministers to others, and becomes an example to everyone.

We May Not Have Clear Direction, But We Can Have Clear Trust

  • Our confidence isn't found in knowing every next step. It's found in trusting the One who does.

  • God can open the doors that need to open and close the ones that need to close.

  • Opposition doesn't always mean we're on the wrong path. Sometimes opposition is confirmation that we're on the right one.

Receive and Encourage Those Who Serve

  • The principle is simple: Treat those who are serving Christ with honor and encouragement.

Stand Strong in Your Faith

Be Alert

  • There is a spiritual enemy who wants our lives—and the church—to look no different from the world.

  • We hold tightly to God's grace, but we also remain spiritually alert.

Stand Firm

  • The culture around us constantly pulls us toward things outside God's will. Stand firm in the truth of Christ.

Be Courageous

  • Don't hide your faith or disguise yourself to fit into the world. God has called us to boldly live out our faith.

Be Strong

  • Our strength doesn't come simply from our own ability. Our strength is found in the Holy Spirit.

  • Spiritual strength requires spiritual discipline and spending time in God's presence.

Do Everything in Love

  • Truth without love doesn't reflect Christ.

  • When we live from the truth of Christ with love for others, it can transform the world around us.

Your Life Can Multiply

  • The early church grew because ordinary people surrendered their lives to Jesus and carried their faith wherever they went.

  • Faith in Christ’s death and resurrection doesn’t just secure our salvation, it’s fuel for our journey on this side of eternity.

  • Because Jesus lives, our lives have purpose. Because Jesus lives, our faith can make an impact. Because Jesus lives, what we do for Christ can multiply beyond us.

It All Begins With Surrender

  • Following Christ begins with a decision—a decision that involves surrender.

  • The gospel is that God loves us so much that He opened the way for salvation and abundant life through Jesus. To reject Christ is to reject that gift. To accept Christ is to embrace life.

  • The decision we make about Jesus directs the course of our lives and determines the impact of our lives.

The Bottom Line

Following Christ means surrendering our lives to Him, trusting Him fully, standing firm in faith, living generously and courageously, and loving others so our lives can make an eternal impact.

Personal Application & Reflection

  • Is God challenging you to become more generous with what He's given you?

  • Is God asking you to trust Him when you don't have clear direction?

  • Is there someone serving Christ that you need to encourage?

  • Do you need to stand stronger in your faith instead of blending into the culture around you?

  • Do you need to spend more time in God's presence so your spiritual strength can grow?

  • Are you living with the confidence that your life can make a difference and multiply beyond you?

  • Most importantly - have you surrendered your life to Christ?
