"Are you saved?" "Have you been born again?" "Have you heard God's plan of salvation?" Maybe these are questions you've heard before and wondered what do they mean. What are people talking about?
We'll try to explain in a brief space... We are what we call sinners. It is in our nature to be selfish, to do things that are hurtful. This is not how man was originally created to be, but because of sin, this is what we are. Thankfully though, this is not how we have to stay. Jesus Christ came into this world, He journeyed on earthly soil and showed us how we can be changed. He gave His life through a death on the cross so that we can have relationship with God, the creator of the universe. Not only did he give His life, but He defeated death, Hell and the grave by being resurrected 3 days after his death.
Salvation, new life, a transformed life, begins for us when we accept that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, believe what He did on the cross for us and for our sins, ask him to forgive us, and then choose to live our life for Him. It doesn't mean we live a perfect life, but it does mean we make the conscious choice day in and day out to live our life not for ourselves, but for God's glory.
If you're ready for a new life, to say I need change, I want my eternity to be in the hands of a loving God, simply pray this prayer:
"Heavenly Father, I give my life to you. I believe in your son Jesus Christ. I believe He died on a cross and rose again to bring me freedom from my sin. Thank you for loving me. Thank you for grace. Thank you for mercy. Help me to now live a new life for you. In Jesus name. Amen."
