Scriptures used: John 11:1-3; 1 John 4:10; Ephesians 3:4-6, 14-21; John 3:16; 1 John 2:1-11; 2 Timothy 1:7

  • As much as we can grasp of the love of God, that love will then permeate through us for His glory.

  • Jesus loves you hoping you reciprocate that love, but He still loves you regardless of whether or not you do.

  • God is so gracious, and so loving, not only will He not allow your past to affect how He loves you, He won’t allow your future to affect His love for you either.

  • If we mistreat someone for whom Jesus died, we are mistreating Jesus Christ Himself. (See Matthew 25)

  • "Love is a commitment to the betterment of the other and this will often require sacrifice." Derwin Gray

  • Fear often disconnects us from others and keeps us from loving them, but God's perfect love drives out fear.

  • Love may require something great but the change it can bring will be great as well.

Reflect or meet with someone to discuss:

  • When you think about how Jesus loves, what amazes you about that love?

  • How much love are you showing Christ based on the way you love others? Why do you think that is?

  • How do you think fear keeps you from loving other people?

  • How do you balance loving someone and not enabling sin in their life that Christ may want to free them from?
