Money Perspective Week 4

Sharable notes for the September 18, 2022 message. You can post these notes on your social platform!

Scriptures used: Luke 16:1-15; Acts 20:35; 1 Timothy 6:17-19; 2 Corinthians 9:12-13
Passages referenced: Matthew 6:19-24

  • Our Heavenly Father wants us to see the world the way He sees the world, because as we do we will be more inclined to respond the way he wants us to respond.

  • When we live with eternal values in mind we make far better use of our opportunities.

  • We look at our resources and think what will I have to show for it? Jesus asks a better question - who will you have to show for it?

  • What are you spending your life on? What are you doing that will last forever?

  • What you’ve been entrusted with is not just a tool, it’s a test.

  • Generosity has nothing to do with your finances. Generosity has everything to do with your heart.

  • God’s great love prompted Him to do. We are never more like God than when we love and when we give.

  • Living a life of real generosity is what makes your faith and your love real to others.

  • When Jesus died on the cross, God was declaring for all eternity His great love for you!

Reflect or meet with someone to discuss:

  • Honestly speaking, what brings you more joy, to give something to someone or to receive a gift from someone? Why do you think that is?

  • How would you define generosity?

  • Have you ever thought that you could be someone who gives but still not be generous? Where do you think the difference comes in?

  • What's something you can do to create more of a heart of generosity within yourself?

Being generous is not always about money. Also, just because you are a giver does not mean you have a generous spirit, it’s about the heart and it’s about following God’s example. In this 7-day Bible Plan featuring videos, we’ll encourage you to be generous to others and to yourself. We’ll discuss your gifts, time, talents, forgiveness and you will learn the benefits of having a generous spirit.
