Scriptures used: Job 1:1-12, 20; 2:9-10,13; Luke 24:27,44; 1 Peter 5:8; James 1:2-8, 5:11; Psalm 46:1,10
Scriptures referenced: Job 1-2; Isaiah 26:3

  • A thematic view throughout Job is that trouble reveals trust.

  • We can’t see life from God’s perspective, but despite that we continue to trust.

  • We don’t worship God because life is good. We worship God because He is good.

  • If our faith is in a God that we believe is all powerful, all knowing and forever able then no matter the circumstance we worship Him.

  • Don't focus on the trouble, focus on the one who's triumphed.

  • To be still and know is not so much about having a quiet time, which we should have, as it is about victory.

  • I can be still because I trust the one who’s in control.

  • Standing steadfast during the suffering is a show of faith. It says I love God, not what God can do for me.

  • Your spiritual adversary will use suffering to drive you away from God, but God will work through it to draw you closer to Him.
