The Implications of the Resurrection Week 2

Sharable notes for the April 23, 2023 message. You can post these notes on your social platform!

Scriptures used: 2 Corinthians 5:17-21; Matthew 28:6-7, 18-20; Acts 11:26; Romans 10:9-15

  • The more you inquire of Jesus the more you discover that he desires more than inquiry, he wants you to follow.

  • When you follow Christ, he will make you into a person who draws others to him.

  • Consider that God gave you a skill not just to use as a tool to make money but as a platform to spread the gospel. You have been uniquely wired and uniquely placed for unique opportunities.

  • A part of being a disciple is accepting the call to make disciples. Come and see leads us to come and follow which leads us to go and tell.

  • We are not just meant to take on the label of Christian we are meant to have the identity of a disciple.

  • The resurrection was a catalyst for the mission of the church. The call to go and tell is empowered and expanded through the resurrection and the Holy Spirit.

  • The one who holds all authority in heaven and earth has given his call to go and tell and to go and make. Being saved and being sent are synonymous.

Reflect or meet with someone to discuss:

  • When you hear helpful information do you tend to keep it to yourself or do you share it with others? Why do you do that?

  • What phrase(s) do you feel describes your faith journey: come and see, come and follow, go and tell.

  • Does the idea of telling others about Christ excite you or make you nervous? Why is that?

  • Does the idea of making disciples of Christ excite you or make you nervous? Why is that?
