- Outward distinctions are no barrier to salvation, a relationship with God through Christ Jesus, and our calling to go and make disciples.
- When we come to Christ, we can trade in a pursuit of temporary happiness for joy unspeakable.
- When you’re identity is that of a child of God and you know He’s your father, then the performing and the pretending can go away.
- Faith in God is about more than just knowing about God, it’s about intimately knowing God and honoring him.
- When you come to Christ, he frees you not to be a slave to legalism but to be a son or daughter who lives out of love for his father.
- When you know God as father, everything changes. Father is not an illustration about God, it’s a title for who God is.
Reflect or meet with someone to discuss:
- How does or would the knowledge of having an inheritance coming to you impact the way you live?
- How does the description of God as father affect the way you see God?
- How does the statement that God is not a reflection of your earthly father, but instead He is the perfection of what it means to be a father impact your view of God?
- How does it impact the way you live your life to honor Christ when you see yourself as a child of God?
