  • The tidings of comfort and joy that is the good news of the gospel, is truth we can rest in.

  • What can I do, what am I doing, to prepare the way for the Lord, to express tidings of comfort and joy?

  • Repentance should be the response of man to the good news of God’s deliverance through Jesus Christ.

  • The things we make peace with may very well be robbing us of the peace of God in our life.

  • It is only when we realize our helplessness that we are in a position to take hold of the comfort that our God wants to give us.

  • Rest in the compassion of Christ.
    Realize there is sin that wants to separate you from him.
    Realize he is a savior that’s there to pardon you.
    Repent. Follow Him. And Walk in the call to prepare the way.

Reflect or meet with someone to discuss:

  • What is your favorite Christmas song?

  • What comes to mind when you hear the phrase "tidings of comfort and joy?"

  • Do you believe there are things in your life that you've "made peace with" that are actually robbing you of peace? What can you do to change that?

  • What steps do you take, or can you take, to live in comfort and joy in a world that doesn't offer a lot of comfort and joy?

  • How do you prepare the way and herald the good news of Christ?
