  • When you have a devotion to something or someone, that devotion defines who you are, and it will cause the devoted act(s) that you do.

  • We have a devotion, and because of the devotion we devote ourselves to action.

  • Jesus’ act of devotion would not be simply that, an act, it would also be a call to devotion.

  • Jesus gave His life in an act of devotion, and then gave us a mission to be devoted to.

  • Jesus didn’t just contribute some time here on earth, He gave His life for us. Jesus is not someone we simply contribute our time to. He’s someone we give our life to.

  • The early church devoted themselves to being disciples.

  • The early church devoted themselves to each other.

  • The early church didn’t just love the ones that were easy to love. They didn’t just love when it was easy to love. They loved like Christ, sacrificially and selflessly.

  • The early church devoted themselves to God's presence.

  • What does our posture in worship say about our acknowledgement of God’s presence?

  • The early church devoted themselves to prayer.

  • Prayer was not just something the early church did, it was part of their existence.

  • We don’t have a problem committing, we have a problem committing to what we should be committing to as believers.
