1802_Widescreen_Kindness.jpg

God was kind to us even when we didn’t deserve it. Even when we were still sinners, Jesus died for us. Because of God’s great love for us, we can be kind to everyone. Jesus personified kindness in the way He lived and interacted with the people He met. But, as we read the Gospels, we find that Jesus didn’t just model kindness. He commanded it. By treating others the way we want to be treated, we live out the way Jesus taught us to live.

We want to help your children with the virtue of kindness. That's why this month we are showing them that kindness is showing others they are valuable by how you treat them. Below you'll discover what we're talking about each week, and you'll also see a few downloadable resources that you can use to help continue the conversation at home with your kids!

This February, our preschoolers are learning that Jesus loves everyone! Watch this video and then take a look below at each week and the specific story your child will hear. As you scroll, you'll also see a few downloadable resources that you can use to help continue the conversation at home with your kids.

Jesus loves everyone is the sweetest news we will ever share with our preschoolers and since sweets are a HUGE part of this month, with all of the heart shaped cookies and candy hearts, the perfect theme for this month is SWEET SHOP!!

We will hear the stories of how Jesus loved the woman at the well, Zacchaeus, the unloved woman, and Peter. What’s wonderful about all the love Jesus showed these people is that He has the same kind of love for you and me and your preschooler. We want our preschoolers to grow up knowing that Jesus loves us all, no matter what, and He will never stop loving us.

So get your sweet tooth – and your heart – ready for a super sweet month filled with the good news that JESUS LOVES EVERYONE! It’s going to be one, huge, sugar overload, not because of candy but because Jesus’ love is just that big and sweet!

1801_Widescreen_Commitment.jpg

Growing in faith is not something that happens by simply cramming information about the Bible into a child’s brain. The knowledge in their head means nothing if we don’t help kids experience what that knowledge can do in their heart. To experience faith, we want kids to practice their faith and that takes commitment.

God keeps all His promises and puts His plans into action. Because God has kept His promises to us, we can make a plan and stick to it. One of the best plans you can make is to commit to an ongoing relationship with Jesus. Commit to practicing faith by reading God’s Word, praying to Him consistently, talking about Him with friends, and living out your faith every day.

We want to help your children with the virtue of commitment. That's why this month we are showing them that commitment is making a plan and putting it into practice. Below you'll discover what we're talking about each week, and you'll also see a few downloadable resources that you can use to help continue the conversation at home with your kids!

Preschoolers love showing us what they can do. They are full of WATCH THIS moments. And it can be anything – turning in a circle, running and jumping on a pile of pillows, curtseying like a princess, or making their eyebrows go up and down. Pretty much anything a preschooler can do falls into the WATCH THIS category, simply because they think anything they learn how to do deserves a WATCH THIS moment.

This month we’re going to run with that theme and the words ‘WATCH THIS!’ will be said... A LOT! For all of you science experiment fans, you’re going to have a blast! Any messes that will be made will be TOTALLY worth it. We want to invite preschoolers to WATCH THIS as we do a few impressive things so we can lead them to the ONE who can do ANYTHING!

The goal for this month is to learn that Jesus is the one to watch, because JESUS CAN DO ANYTHING!

1712_Widescreen_Generosity.jpg

Every good and perfect gift comes from God. In fact, generosity is at the very core of God’s character— He even gave us His own son, Jesus! Jesus showed unwavering generosity as He traded His life for ours.

And, because God gave us Jesus and Jesus gave His life, we can be generous towards others. Not only that, but when we are generous towards others, we prove that we love God by loving the people He loves. We pray that this Christmas, as children celebrate God’s amazing generosity, they’ll see how they can be generous with their family, friends, and neighbors.

We want to help your children with the virtue of generosity. That's why this month we are showing them that generosity is making someone's day by giving something away. Below you'll discover what we're talking about each week, and you'll also see a few downloadable resources that you can use to help continue the conversation at home with your kids!

Can you believe it’s that time of year again? Time to decorate, bake cookies, buy gifts, sing carols. It’s also time to teach our children the true story of Christmas—the story of when God gave us Jesus—the best gift ever!

Every year, the story is the same. God sends an angel to tell Mary the good news. Jesus is born. The angels tell the shepherds. And, once they see baby Jesus, they tell everyone! Then the wise men come and worship God’s Son.

Even though the story never changes, we can't forget how special the story is! The story we get to share with our children this time of year is so special that we need tell it with excitement and wonder so that they are excited about it too! We want to help you tell the true story of Christmas in a way that communicates to your child that Jesus really is the best gift ever! He’s a very special delivery!

Have you ever paused to think about everything God has done for you? He created a planet that’s perfectly suited for otters and ostriches and you. Then, He sent His Son, Jesus, to that planet to die and be raised to life so He could have a forever relationship with you. Through the month, we’ll help kids refocus on all that God has done for them. Because when you know what God has done for you, YOU CAN BE THANKFUL—ALWAYS.

We want to help your children with the virtue of gratitude. That's why this month we are showing them that gratitude is letting others know you see how they've helped you. Below you'll discover what we're talking about each week, and you'll also see a few downloadable resources that you can use to help continue the conversation at home with your kids!

1710_Widescreen_Stewardhip.jpg

In Psalm 24:1, we read, The earth is the Lord’s, and everything in it, (NIV). In other words, whatever we have isn’t really ours. God created the entire world— the land and sea, planets and galaxies, animals and people. And when people create, those people do so because of the gift and talents that God gave them. It’s our job to take care of what God has loaned us for a time to use in order to bring Him glory.

Jesus put stewardship into action. He used the time He had on earth wisely, never wasting a moment, but always working towards God’s plan.

We want to help your children with the virtue of stewardship. That's why this month we are showing them that stewardship is a response to the character of God, and that response should be to take care of what we have because it all belongs to Him. Below you'll discover what we're talking about each week, and you'll also see a few downloadable resources that you can use to help continue the conversation at home with your kids!

Christmas Play 2017

bwccamden

Each year, the Morf’d Christmas program is a great time of the church family coming together to celebrate our Savior while enjoying our BWC children ministering to us through song, joy, laughter, and tears.

We’ve witnessed many of our young people, that have participated in these productions in years past, go on to build upon their experiences and the talents and abilities that were revealed during these times. Yes, they’re cute up there and we laugh and cry, but these are powerful opportunities for our kids to experience ministry.  They may be nervous and even have a bit of stage fright at times, but you will help them and watch them overcome, and the blessing their involvement will be to your child and others is undeniable.

We want this to be a choice by you and your child to participate in the Christmas Play. We don't want your child to feel forced by us in anyway. This is where we need your help so keep reading!

The majority of rehearsals will be conducted during the Sunday morning worship services, after the Morf’d bible study and life instruction. If you and/or your child chooses to not be a part of the play they can still come and be a part of Morf'd Kid's Church. We will continue with small groups for those who will not be practicing for the play. So if you are visiting or have friends visiting, there will still be things for the kids to do and they not feel left out during the play practice!

For those who will be participating, there will also be a couple Saturday rehearsals in December in the Main Auditorium for the actors and soloists only, and one rehearsal the Saturday before the play for everyone involved. Those practices are tentatively scheduled for:

December 2nd 10am-12pm
December 9th 1-3pm
December 16th 10am-12pm

If you wish for your child/children to participate in this production, it is imperative that you COMPLETE AND RETURN this formOnly children with completed permission forms will have the opportunity to begin rehearsals.

The play will be on a Sunday night December 17th at 6pm.

Thank you for all you do, to help us, as we minister to your kids and give them opportunities to minister back to us.

1709_Widescreen_Friendship.jpg

God desires a relationship with us. That’s why He created us in the first place. When we sinned and broke that relationship, God continued to pursue us. God sacrificed His only Son to make it possible for us to have a relationship with Him again.

Jesus demonstrated friendship in the most generous way possible. He showed us the greatest love when He laid down His life for His friends. He went to the cross, not on principle or for a cause, but because of love and wanting to be with us forever.

We want to help your children with the virtue of friendship. That's why this month we are learning THE CONNECTION BETWEEN FRIENDSHIP AND GOD’S CHARACTER, AS SHOWN THROUGH GOD’S BIG STORY. Below you'll discover what we're talking about each week, and you'll also see a few downloadable resources that you can use to help continue the conversation at home with your kids!

God is the all-powerful, Creator of the universe. There is no one else who has the position or power of God. We can’t help but respond to Him with respect. When it comes to people, everyone is important for two reasons: God made them in His image and Jesus died for them. That’s why respect is also a reflection of the character of Christ in us. When we see people like Jesus sees them, we can show everyone they matter to God.

We want to help with this. That's why this month we are learning in Kid's church about respect: showing others they are important by what you say and do. Below you'll discover what we're talking about each week, and you'll also see a few downloadable resources that you can use to help continue the conversation at home with your kids!

Just as God created our children in His own unique way, He too created us as parents. Our children pick up on more than we realize, so it’s important we don’t lose sight of our own unique gifts. The more we demonstrate love for others the more our children will feel confident to put their own gifts to work. God created us to love others, so find a way this month to let His light shine through you.

Our children will learn to embrace the way God made them by watching how we, as parents, handle the gifts God has given us. The comparison trap we fall into amongst our peers is just as real for our children as it is for us adults. Living in a constant state of comparison is poisonous and can keep us from truly seeing ourselves as God sees us. If you struggle with this, take a personality assessment to rediscover your strengths and celebrate them. God created each of us with a specific purpose in mind and when we embrace the way we are made, our children will learn to do the same!

JUNE PREVIEW

JULY PREVIEW

Over the next nine weeks, your child will be learning about kids in the Bible who rocked. Or, in other words, kids In the Bible who did what God wanted them to do. We believe that kids who do what God wants them to do totally rock! This summer, your child will hear about how people in the Bible did amazing things when they were still kids!

You do so much as a parent to help your child develop the skills they will need to become a successful adult. You help them learn new information, master new skills, and make new friends. How about we add doing what God wants them to do to that list? No matter how young or old a person is, they can do what God wants them to do. We think that is what makes you and your child ROCK!

The best way for your child to learn to do what God wants them to do is by watching you, their parent, do what God wants you do. Yes, you have that much influence on your child. Hey, when you rock, your child rocks! Take some time this summer to think about what God wants you to do and then make it a goal to do it. Help a neighbor? Be brave? Share what you have? When your child sees you doing what God wants you to do, it will help them do what God wants them to do. THAT totally rocks!

We want to offer you ways to help your children remember that Jesus is God's Son. Here's what we'll be talking about each week:

  • June 4 - Mary and Joseph nd 12-year-old Jesus sitting in the temple and talking with the religious leaders. Luke 2:41-50
  • June 11 - The boy Samuel learns to listen when God speaks to him. 1 Samuel 3:1-10, 19
  • June 18 - Samuel anoints David, the youngest of Jesse’s sons, to be the next king of Israel. 1 Samuel 16:1-13
  • June 25 - The young boy David volunteers to battle Goliath and defeats him with a sling and ve smooth stones. 1 Samuel 17:1-50
  • July 2 - Young Daniel and his three friends ask to only eat vegetables and drink water when in training with King Nebuchadnezzar because they want to honor God. Daniel 1
  • July 9 - Young Miriam watches her baby brother Moses after their mom puts him in a basket and hides him in the reeds on the bank of the Nile River. Exodus 1:22-2:10
  • July 16 - Josiah becomes king at just eight years old and leads the people to do what God wants them to. 2 Chronicles 34
  • July 23 - Jesus uses a young boy’s lunch to perform a miracle and feed over 5000 people. John 6:1-13
  • July 30 -A review of Kids Rock ending with Timothy encouraging the reader to not let anyone think less of them because they are young. 1 Timothy 4:12
