Prayer Covering Group

Our Prayer Covering Group creates an opportunity for those participating to build encouraging relationships with one another, teach intercessory prayer, and be an outreach of BWC to the community and beyond. It goes beyond being a group to being a ministry.

We use our time to crochet, knit, and/or quilt lap size coverings for anyone, regardless of age, who may have a need. There may be a need such as a loss of spouse, sibling or child, medical issues such as cancer, sickness, long-term illness, surgery, etc. We also have begun making scarves for the homeless to have during the cold winter months.

Wherever a need may be that someone could benefit from knowing they are covered in prayer, our group will respond. As we create these coverings, we pray for the future recipient.

There are no expectations as far as time you are required to commit.  You do it as it fits your schedule.  Sometimes we have people who make a covering or two a week and others who complete one every few months or per year.

We would love to have anyone who has a desire to pray on behalf of others, loves to crochet, knit, and/or quilt, and has time to give. If you are interested please fill out the form below.  We will supply all materials. If you want to participate and do not know how to crochet, we are willing to teach you!

Stories shared...
  • A father of someone in our church family was having health issues that would cause them to have extreme pain. He was only getting sleep for about 60-90 minutes at a time. One night while having trouble sleeping, his wife covered him with the prayer blanket he had received from our group. He immediately fell asleep and slept for 4 1/2 hours.
There's nothing magical about the blanket, but the prayers that have been prayed for the individual and that are covering him brought comfort.
